Position Summary:
The Insurance Sales Consultant will provide expert advice and support to clients on both short-term and long-term insurance products. The successful candidate will be responsible for convert leads by engaging prospects into satisfied clients, and ensuring all sales activities comply with FSCA guidelines. In addition to sales expertise, the role requires adherence to FSCA-mandated regulatory examination (RE) and Key Individual (KI) qualifications for both insurance categories.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Consultation & Sales:

  • Engage with potential and existing clients to assess their insurance requirements by conducting a thorough need analysis and provide tailored solutions.
  • Present and explain various insurance products, including short-term and long-term offerings.
  • Assist clients with general enquiries and provide exceptional post-sale support to address any issues or concerns.
  • Stay informed about the company's insurance products, features, and benefits. Keep abreast of market trends and competitor offerings to provide clients with accurate and relevant information.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure all advice, sales practices, and documentation are in full compliance with FSCA regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, including CPD (Continuing Professional Development) obligations.

Relationship Management & Administration:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Support the claims process by liaising between clients and insurers, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution.
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare periodic reports as required by management and regulatory bodies.

Team Collaboration & Business Development:

  • Work closely with the broader sales and marketing teams to develop and refine sales strategies.
  • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to enhance the company’s market presence.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

Regulatory & Technical Requirements:

  • Possess or be willing to obtain the FSCA-approved regulatory examination (RE) certification.
  • Meet the Key Individual (KI) qualification criteria for both short-term and long-term insurance categories, as mandated by the FSCA.
  • Demonstrated understanding of FSCA guidelines and compliance standards in the insurance sector.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in insurance sales or a related financial services role is preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing a client base.
  • Demonstrated experience in cold calling as a means of generating leads and expanding client outreach.
  • Experience in both short-term and long-term insurance products is highly desirable.

Educational Background:

  • A tertiary qualification in business, finance, economics, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development and CPD in line with industry standards.
