The Opportunity


As the People & Culture Business Partner, Manager, you will have end-to-end accountability for your client groups, Member Services and Capital Markets.   You will build strategic partnerships with business leaders, develop people insights, people plans, talent review, culture, and engagement. 


Who you'll work with


In this role, you will report into the Director & Senior Business Partner Lead within the People & Organizational Effectiveness team.   You will support your Member Services and Capital Markets business clients at all levels and collaborate with other P&C business partners on shared initiatives and HR programs.


What you'll do


  • As the strategic advisor to your client groups, you will offer advice on planning/development, performance management, organizational changes, compensation, employee retention, employee engagement, organizational structure, culture activation, talent review, workforce planning, communication and attracting and retaining talent.

  • With mentorship and tied into divisional objectives, you will understand and assess the market and strategic team objectives for their client groups, and devise a workforce plan that includes the organization shape and needs, required proficiencies, bolstered strengths, talent requirements and overall alignment to budgets and KPIs.

  • Diagnose business issues and understand strategic goals, developing effective solutions and interventions that deliver against key priorities and drive a high-performance culture.

  • Assess and manage appropriate level employee and labour relations issues for our Member Services team by utilizing your understanding of the collective agreement and prior union experience, working in partnership with the Director Employee & Labour Relations where required

  • Build, maintain and manage trusted relationships with your client groups

  • Maintain a clear pulse of emerging people environment, culture and engagement within Capital Markets and Member Services

  • Partner with P&C to lead all P&C cyclical processes including: Performance Management, Compensation, Talent Review and workforce planning for your designated client groups

  • Collaborate with Divisional budget coordinators in managing headcount, understand the impacts to budget and advising managers on how to best navigate changes

  • Lead, manage and provide guidance to leaders on performance management issues within client groups.

  • Liaise with the People Operations team to define business requirements on process and system enhancements in Workday for your respective client groups, as applicable

  • Consult and provide recommendations to senior business leaders of assigned client groups in the area of organizational design, planning, team development

  • Provide day to day coaching as applicable on various issues

  • Apply strong critical thinking skills and capabilities to leverage data and insights to inform talent strategies and decisions

  • Assess and advise on employee and team engagement


What you'll need


  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in human resources or related area of study, or equivalent experience required. CHRL designation preferred

  • Experience working in a unionized environment including interpreting collective agreements and labour & employee relations

  • 7+ years of human resources, talent, executive coaching or human capital consulting experience

  • Ability to think strategically and a demonstrated track record of implementing scalable solutions

  • Ability to balance competing priorities, addressing immediate needs while also working on longer term initiatives

  • Ability to partner effectively and work in a dynamic, fast-paced and agile environment

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passionate, self-motivated and inspiring in developing leaders

  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence to establish trust, maintain confidential information and foster a strong relationship with business leaders, partners and top talent

  • Comfortable cultivating relationships inside and outside of the organization

  • Demonstrated experience coaching leaders
